Marketplace Disclaimer

Last Updated: September 2026

Easel & Ink Studios was created to help artists find one another, share their work, discover beautiful supplies, and explore different ways to support their creative lives.

Our marketplace and associated communities may bring together independent artists, makers, buyers, sellers, affiliate marketers, collectors, and creative businesses. Some products or services may be offered directly by Easel & Ink Studios, while others may be offered independently by third parties.

This Marketplace Disclaimer explains the relationship between Easel & Ink Studios and the independent people and businesses who may promote, recommend, buy, sell, trade, or otherwise participate in our marketplace and community.

A Community Marketplace

Easel & Ink Studios provides spaces where artists and creative businesses can discover and connect with one another.

Depending on the features available at any particular time, you may encounter:

  • Original artwork and prints
  • Handmade and hand-poured paints
  • Carefully mulled pigments and custom paint formulations
  • Curated palettes and paint collections
  • Handmade art supplies, tools, journals, and accessories
  • Studio destash and surplus art materials
  • Independent artist shops and businesses
  • Affiliate recommendations and product reviews
  • Links to products sold by outside retailers
  • Other artist-made or art-related goods and services

Our goal is to provide artists with a broader creative marketplace rather than forcing every artist, maker, or product into a single narrow category.

Independent Sellers

Unless a listing, product page, or offer specifically identifies Easel & Ink Studios as the seller, artists, makers, sellers, and businesses participating in our marketplace operate independently.

Independent sellers are not employees, agents, representatives, partners, or franchisees of Easel & Ink Studios merely because they participate in our website, marketplace, social media groups, or other community spaces.

Each independent seller is responsible for their own products, services, listings, business practices, and transactions.

Seller Responsibilities

Independent sellers are responsible for providing accurate and reasonably complete information about the products or services they offer.

This includes, when applicable:

  • Product descriptions
  • Prices and applicable fees
  • Photographs and representations of products
  • Materials and ingredients
  • Paint, pigment, binder, or formulation information
  • Product quantities and sizes
  • Condition of new, surplus, or destashed supplies
  • Processing and fulfillment times
  • Shipping methods and costs
  • Return, refund, and exchange policies
  • Known defects or material limitations
  • Safety information when appropriate
  • Compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Sellers are responsible for determining which laws, labeling requirements, tax obligations, consumer protection rules, product safety requirements, intellectual property laws, and other regulations apply to their businesses and products.

Handmade and Hand-Poured Art Supplies

One of the things we particularly love about the artist community is discovering materials created by other artists.

Easel & Ink Studios may feature handmade paints, hand-mulled pigments, hand-poured paints, custom palettes, independently formulated art materials, and other artisan supplies.

Handmade products naturally vary.

Color, texture, consistency, pigment concentration, granulation, staining characteristics, drying behavior, rewetting, appearance, packaging, and other characteristics may differ between batches or individual products.

Unless Easel & Ink Studios is specifically identified as the manufacturer or seller, questions concerning the formulation, ingredients, safety, manufacturing process, or performance of a handmade product should be directed to the maker responsible for that product.

Studio Destash and Pre-Owned Supplies

Where permitted by current marketplace rules, artists may be allowed to offer unused, surplus, discontinued, partially used, pre-owned, or other studio supplies.

Destash sellers are responsible for accurately representing the condition of the materials they offer, including known damage, age, use, missing components, contamination concerns, storage conditions, or other information that could reasonably affect a buyer’s decision.

Buyers should carefully review descriptions and photographs and ask the seller questions before purchasing pre-owned or destashed materials.

Transactions Between Buyers and Independent Sellers

When a transaction occurs directly between a buyer and an independent seller, that transaction is an agreement between those parties.

Unless Easel & Ink Studios is specifically identified as the seller or payment recipient, we are not a party to the purchase agreement between an independent buyer and seller.

The buyer and seller are responsible for matters associated with their transaction, including:

  • Payment
  • Order processing
  • Shipping
  • Delivery
  • Insurance
  • Tracking
  • Returns
  • Refunds
  • Exchanges
  • Damaged or missing shipments
  • Product quality disputes
  • Chargebacks or payment disputes
  • Customer service

If a transaction is completed through another marketplace, retailer, payment processor, or ecommerce service, that transaction may also be subject to the terms and policies of the applicable third-party platform.

Products Sold Directly by Easel & Ink Studios

From time to time, Easel & Ink Studios may offer products or services directly.

When Easel & Ink Studios is specifically identified as the seller, the transaction will be governed by the terms, pricing, shipping information, refund policies, and other conditions presented for that particular purchase.

This Marketplace Disclaimer is not intended to eliminate any obligations Easel & Ink Studios may have when it acts directly as a seller.

Affiliate Products and Recommendations

Some products featured through Easel & Ink Studios may not be sold through our marketplace at all.

Artists, administrators, or contributors may recommend products available from independent retailers and provide affiliate links to those products.

The person responsible for an affiliate link may receive a commission or other compensation from qualifying purchases.

Affiliate relationships should be disclosed appropriately. Additional information is available in our Affiliate Disclosure.

A recommendation or affiliate relationship does not make Easel & Ink Studios the manufacturer, distributor, retailer, or seller of a third-party product.

Reviews and Recommendations

Artists are allowed to have opinions. In fact, we rather encourage it.

Reviews, recommendations, demonstrations, discussions, and personal experiences shared through Easel & Ink Studios represent the experiences or opinions of their respective authors unless otherwise stated.

Art materials are highly personal. A paint, paper, brush, palette, tool, or technique that works beautifully for one artist may not produce the same experience for another.

Reviews and recommendations should therefore be treated as information rather than guarantees of individual results.

Product Safety

Art materials may contain pigments, chemicals, binders, solvents, powders, metals, minerals, natural materials, synthetic materials, or other substances requiring appropriate handling.

Buyers and users are responsible for reviewing available product information and following appropriate manufacturer or maker instructions and safety precautions.

Products should not be assumed to be food-safe, cosmetic-safe, child-safe, pet-safe, non-toxic, archival, lightfast, or suitable for a particular application unless the responsible manufacturer or seller specifically provides appropriate information supporting that representation.

Questions about the safety or intended use of independently manufactured products should be directed to the maker or manufacturer responsible for them.

Color and Product Representation

Artists know better than most that color can be wonderfully difficult.

Photographs and digital representations of paints, pigments, artwork, and other products may appear differently depending on lighting, photography, scanning, editing, screen calibration, device settings, paper, printing, and other variables.

We cannot guarantee that the color displayed on your screen will precisely match a physical product.

Independent sellers are responsible for making reasonable efforts to represent their products accurately.

Original Artwork and Intellectual Property

Artists and sellers may only offer, reproduce, or promote artwork, designs, photographs, writing, or other creative material they own or are legally authorized to use.

Participation in Easel & Ink Studios does not grant anyone permission to copy, reproduce, manufacture, sell, distribute, or otherwise exploit another artist’s work.

Artists retain ownership of their original intellectual property unless they expressly transfer or license those rights through another agreement.

Suspected intellectual property violations may be reported to Easel & Ink Studios for review under our Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy.

Buyer Responsibility

Buyers should use reasonable judgment when purchasing from independent sellers.

Before completing a transaction, buyers should review the seller’s product description, price, shipping terms, refund or return policies, processing times, and other relevant information.

When purchasing through an external website or marketplace, buyers should also review the policies and protections offered by that service.

Disputes Between Community Members

We hope transactions that begin through Easel & Ink Studios result in happy artists receiving wonderful things.

Occasionally, however, disagreements happen.

When a dispute involves a transaction between independent parties, buyers and sellers should first make a reasonable effort to resolve the matter directly or through the payment processor or marketplace used for the transaction.

Easel & Ink Studios may choose to review conduct that affects the safety or integrity of our community, but we are not obligated to mediate private contractual disputes between independent parties.

We may restrict or remove participation when we reasonably believe a user is engaging in fraud, repeated deceptive practices, intellectual property infringement, abusive behavior, or other conduct inconsistent with our community standards.

No Guarantee of Sellers or Products

The appearance of an artist, seller, product, business, link, listing, recommendation, or advertisement through Easel & Ink Studios does not constitute a guarantee regarding that party or product.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Easel & Ink Studios does not guarantee:

  • The quality or performance of independently sold products
  • The accuracy of every independent listing
  • The reliability of an independent buyer or seller
  • Delivery or fulfillment by independent sellers
  • The suitability of a product for a particular artist or purpose
  • The profitability or success of a seller’s business
  • The availability or continued operation of a third-party shop or service

No Guarantee of Sales or Exposure

Participation in Easel & Ink Studios does not guarantee sales, commissions, customers, referrals, traffic, followers, exposure, affiliate income, or business growth.

Our role is to create opportunities for artists to discover and support one another. What grows from those opportunities will vary.

Marketplace Rules May Change

Easel & Ink Studios is a growing creative community.

The types of products, listings, promotions, affiliate content, destash items, and marketplace activities permitted through our spaces may evolve as we learn what works best for our artists and community.

Current marketplace or community rules may establish additional requirements beyond those described in this Disclaimer.

We reserve the right to moderate or remove listings and participation that violate applicable rules, these policies, or applicable law.

Limitation of Responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Easel & Ink Studios is not responsible for losses, damages, disputes, injuries, delivery problems, product defects, misrepresentations, or other issues arising from transactions conducted independently between buyers, sellers, makers, retailers, or other third parties.

Nothing in this Disclaimer is intended to exclude responsibilities or rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

Questions and Concerns

If you believe a listing or participant is violating Easel & Ink Studios marketplace rules, engaging in fraudulent behavior, infringing intellectual property, or creating a safety concern for the community, please contact us through our website.

Questions concerning an individual product, transaction, shipment, refund, or independent seller’s policies should generally be directed to the seller responsible for that transaction.
