Easel & Ink Studios believes artists should have many ways to support their creativity, their businesses, and one another. Affiliate marketing is one of those ways.

Some of the links, recommendations, reviews, tutorials, supply lists, articles, social media posts, marketplace resources, and other content shared through Easel & Ink Studios may contain affiliate links.

This means that Easel & Ink Studios, one of our administrators, or an individual artist or contributor may receive a commission or other compensation when you follow a qualifying link and make a purchase or complete another qualifying action.

When an affiliate relationship applies, we believe you deserve to know about it.

What Is an Affiliate Link?

An affiliate link is a specially tracked link provided by a retailer, manufacturer, marketplace, affiliate network, or other business.

When you follow an affiliate link, the company may record that you arrived through a particular artist, website, or contributor. If you subsequently make a qualifying purchase or complete another qualifying action, the person or organization responsible for that link may receive a commission.

In most cases, using an affiliate link does not increase the price you pay. Prices, promotions, eligibility requirements, and affiliate terms are ultimately determined by the applicable retailer or service.

Why We Use Affiliate Links

Art supplies cost money.

Paper costs money. Paint costs money. Brushes cost money. Books, palettes, easels, storage, studio equipment, printing, websites, packaging, and all of the other wonderfully dangerous things an artist discovers they suddenly need cost money too.

One of the reasons Easel & Ink Studios was created was to recognize that there is more than one legitimate way for artists to support their creative lives.

Some artists sell original paintings.

Some create handmade paints or other supplies.

Some teach.

Some sell prints and products.

Some earn commissions by recommending the materials they genuinely use and enjoy.

We believe there is room for all of those approaches when they are practiced honestly and transparently.

Affiliate Links Shared by Easel & Ink Studios

Easel & Ink Studios may participate in affiliate programs offered by retailers, manufacturers, marketplaces, affiliate networks, and other companies.

When Easel & Ink Studios publishes an affiliate link, we may receive compensation from qualifying purchases or referrals made through that link.

Affiliate partnerships may change over time as programs are added, discontinued, or modified. The presence of a particular retailer, manufacturer, product, or service on the website should not be interpreted as a permanent partnership or endorsement.

Affiliate Links Shared by Artists and Contributors

Easel & Ink Studios is also designed to give participating artists and creators opportunities to support their own creative work.

Where permitted by our community or marketplace guidelines, individual artists, administrators, contributors, or community members may share their own affiliate links.

Unless otherwise stated, compensation generated by an individual’s affiliate link belongs to the person or business responsible for that link and does not necessarily belong to Easel & Ink Studios.

Individual contributors are responsible for complying with the disclosure requirements, terms, policies, and applicable laws governing their own affiliate relationships.

Our Disclosure Expectations

Affiliate relationships should not be hidden.

When affiliate links are used through Easel & Ink Studios, we expect the commercial relationship to be disclosed clearly and in a manner that can reasonably be understood by the person viewing the recommendation.

Depending on the format, disclosures may use language such as:

  • Affiliate Link
  • Affiliate
  • Ad
  • Sponsored
  • We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases.
  • I may earn a commission if you purchase through this link.

The appropriate disclosure may vary depending on the content, platform, affiliate program, and applicable legal requirements.

Reviews and Recommendations

Compensation does not transform a recommendation into a guarantee.

Whenever possible, we encourage our artists and contributors to share useful context about why they recommend a particular product, material, retailer, book, tool, or service.

However, artistic preferences are highly individual.

A watercolor paper one artist adores may frustrate another. A brush that feels perfect in one person’s hand may be entirely wrong for someone else’s technique. Pigments, paints, palettes, tools, books, and other materials should be evaluated according to your own needs and preferences.

You are responsible for deciding whether a recommended product or service is appropriate for you.

Prices and Product Information

Prices, availability, specifications, promotions, shipping costs, product descriptions, and other information associated with third-party products may change without notice.

While we may attempt to provide accurate information at the time content is published, the retailer or seller’s website should be considered the authoritative source for current pricing, availability, policies, and product details.

A product appearing on Easel & Ink Studios does not guarantee that it remains available or that a particular price or promotion is still valid.

Third-Party Retailers and Affiliate Programs

Affiliate links may direct you to websites and services operated independently from Easel & Ink Studios.

Those companies maintain their own terms, privacy policies, shipping practices, return policies, warranties, customer service procedures, and other business practices.

Easel & Ink Studios does not control an independent retailer merely because we participate in its affiliate program.

Questions or concerns regarding a purchase completed through an independent retailer should generally be directed to the retailer responsible for the transaction.

Cookies and Affiliate Tracking

Affiliate retailers and networks may use cookies, tracking parameters, or similar technologies to determine whether a purchase or other qualifying action resulted from an affiliate referral.

These technologies may operate according to the policies of the applicable affiliate network, retailer, or third-party service.

Additional information about cookies and information collected through Easel & Ink Studios can be found in our Privacy Policy.

Sponsored and Complimentary Products

From time to time, Easel & Ink Studios or an individual contributor may receive a product, sample, discount, service, sponsorship, or other form of compensation from a company or independent maker.

When such a relationship is relevant to content being published, it should be disclosed appropriately.

Receiving a complimentary product or other compensation does not guarantee a positive review or recommendation.

Supporting Artists Through Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is not something we consider separate from our mission. Used responsibly, it is one of the ways artists can help other artists while supporting their own creative work.

An artist who has spent years testing paints, brushes, papers, books, tools, or equipment has valuable experience to share. When that recommendation helps another artist find something useful, we believe it is reasonable for the recommending artist to have an opportunity to earn a small commission from that introduction.

The important part is transparency.

Recommend honestly. Disclose clearly. Let the artist on the other side of the link decide what is right for them.

Questions About Affiliate Relationships

If you have questions about an affiliate relationship associated specifically with Easel & Ink Studios, please contact us through our website.

If an affiliate link was independently published by another artist, seller, contributor, or business, questions regarding that person’s affiliate relationship should generally be directed to the individual or business responsible for the link.
